Active ownership, comprising engagement and voting, is fundamental to responsible investment and is on the rise throughout Asia due to the emergence and adoption of national stewardship codes in the region. Through engagement, investors can ensure that their portfolio companies are managing key ESG risks and opportunities, transitioning their business models, and disclosing the information investors need to fully assess and value companies' growth prospects.​

ASFI will support investor engagement by:

• Researching corporate performance on material ESG issues relevant to food, water, energy, and infrastructure, and sharing analyses with investors

• Conceptualizing, planning, and coordinating collective investor engagement initiatives

• Identifying international investors and other partners to coordinate collective engagement efforts
